From last 2 months bsnl is giving ridiculously high ping issue and packet loss. after 10 or 11pm it usually goes back to normal. I really don't want to waste my energy to explain what is latency or ping to the bsnl exchange office useless Babu's who don't even know about this term( most of them).
It's been 2 months still they haven't fixed it.
Ps: i have bsnl ADSL not ftth.

Have you folks tried contacting your local NIB directly via email or phone?

I'm sure the engineers there are aware of the issues, just must be facing some hurdles to resolve it quickly.

@vignesh_venkatesan Just checked mine after noticing something strange since yesterday. You are right. Only peered services like Google are fine. Everything else is messed-up.

Above is the speed-test result via cli via wifi. I am on 50mbps plan. I used to get 50mbps or more(!!!) even via wifi.

Above is pings to Cloudflare. WTF?!

Thank god I ditched BSNL good.
However I spoke with NIB Chennai and My contact who is an higher exec bsnl Chennai.
According to him, bsnl has issues in transit links this was due to efforts made by them to overhaul thier network and reduce the number of upstream providers.

This is what I get 😑

@varkey BSNL is using a new route.
They're routing data through de-cix exchange.
This what bsnl needs to do, participate in more exchanges and actively peer with more content players.
BSNL is the only network of its size which has like 10 transit upstream providers.
Ideally it should be the one providing transit to other bigger ISP.

10 upstreams??? I thought they only had Airtel and Tata? Or am I misunderstanding it?
