Tradus, Shopclues and buytheprice also operate on the same model. You can see if any of them have lower fees.

having your own website is a very good idea if you are serious about the venture. even if it would not be your primary source of revenue. you do not have to come on the top of google search result pages. you can get sale queries from forums, social networks. why process these queries through ebay when you can sell the item to interested customers directly?

Although your ideas make sense but why would a customer trust me outside ebay protection...... Is what bothers me

Does ebay allow you to put your website address/email ID in the product description/contact details etc. If so, it might be a good idea to be affiliated with them, till you are a bit more established. Some buyers may then notice & choose to come directly to the site.

you are more likely to find buyers through word of mouth publicity, contacts, social networks etc. it would be pretty hard to compete against established sellers on ebay at least early on. in the long run have multiple avenues to offer your products. having a good functional website sends a good message to the potential buyer. shows how serious you take your venture. it is not about seo, it is about branding.

eBay is really ****ing with sellers. You need to pay 4.5% to sell using Paisapay. Then there is 10% tax on that 4.5% which makes it 4.95% which is nearly equal to 5%. So eBay is not a place for seller who is trying to sell products with around 5% profit. The worst thing about this whole procedure is that seller have to pay the security. If you are trying to provide security to buyers then make them pay the Paisapay fee or pay it yourself why force us to pay it. Big Sellers who keep around 20% profit can work with it but small time sellers are completely screwed over.I would suggest you to look out for alternatives. 7-8% profit is too low for a eBay seller. I have heard of Tradus like someone else suggested. You can try that out.

letme find out tradus and others and i will be back with results

I thought I should give Tradus a try too but its policies are a deal-breaker. One of the Terms and Conditions stated that buyer can return the item if s\he wants and we, sellers, would have to pay for the return cost too. Correct me if I am wrong. But if they have policies like this then I would like to stay away from it. They are giving buyers all the incentives possible. Its obvious that the buyers will try to pull scams in this type of situation.

Why can't we just have some something like eBay.com in India? Give us a interface for payment reception without putting your one dimensional brain into it.
