My family has become highly dependent on Jio AirFiber. Now they use up 1 TB in just 15 days. Is there a way to stop or slow down the Wi-Fi while still letting Ethernet work?( can't block them cuz it will rise family issue)
The router supplied with the traditional Jio Fiber used to support bandwidth control. If the router on AirFiber doesn't support, the only option is to use a third-party router or repeater supporting bandwidth control.
Change SSID and password for 5ghz while keeping 2.4ghz as it is. Others will automatically connect to 2.4ghz network. But this will not help much even 2.4ghz gives decent speed. I have assumed airfiber is on 100mbps or 200mbps plan
Then it seems they are on path to adapt MLO(Multi-Link Operation), but seperate SSIDs would not have helped you. Instead buy a seperate access point and damage ethernet wire connecting them to restrict speed at 10mbps or improvise it further like I would have added Mikrotik access point and restricted port speed to 10mbps
MLO is one of the feature of wifi 7 but MLO can be deployed in dual band, no need for tri-band. MLO is only logical reason to keep SSID same, it is not necessary that they will implement it in this device, they will test same SSID for all the bands then bring in MLO supported CPE
