Most of the time i face issues like
1) Shows I/O error while creating a new folder(sometimes)
2) Downloading torrent in that disk shows error
3) Shutting down takes a lot of time due to disk accessing(when not in use)

P.S. Tested with all major utilites (WD/Seagate) but couldn't find any errors.
Anyone facing similar issues? Any suggestions?

Just now tried with a friend's laptop(USB 2.0) and it worked fine. Then i connected my device to my USB 2.0 port and everything is fine. No issues as of now.
I wonder why it gave a lot of issues when connected to my USB 3.0 ports? :nono:

Could be a driver issue. I was suspecting some form of antivirus activity, denying access to the HDD... Run a full virus scan anyway, if you haven't done a low level format once you bought it.

I bought the product during this Diwali. For 15 days i faced the same issues. After that i formatted and installed(clean) fresh OS Win 7 but the issues stays.

What should i do?
USB 2.0 is ok with me as i just use it for downloading and as a backup disk :pleasantry:

3.0 speeds are amazing in comparison when copying files. If that is not a bother to you then should be fine. Else you may want to download from WD site, drivers for Win 7/8 (depending on your OS) for your particular model and install it on your laptop.

I've installed all the drivers from WD site :OK: . I use desktop.
I've to try it in on another PC that has USB 3.0 to confirm the issue. Sadly none of my friends has it

usb 3.0 is still pretty new  Most laptops still don't have it...they have like a esata port.
