Issues with my WD My Passport External HDD....

Last December when i upgraded my PC i specifically looked for Motherboard that has 16 GB memory slot, USB 3.0, PCIE 3.0, 6 Gbps SATA port etc., Now i bought the WD My passport coz it has USB 3.0 compatibility. But when it doesn't work on that port...it hurts issed-off:

Yup very irritating when things dont go to plan. I am sure it is a software issue and you should be able to sort it out. Do you have more than one USB3 slot? If so, try it on a second one.
You can also go into device management and delete the USB driver and when you plug this disk in, it will try and reinstall the driver.

Somebody reported the same issue in ubuntu:https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/630537looks like a software bug. Try uninstalling and then installing the USB 3 drivers.

wd has the best rma i know in hdd. Just return it for a new one

The HDD utilities (WD & Seagate) didn't showed any errors. Even chkdsk showed no errors. I need a proof that it is at fault..right?

Removed WD Security password and everything is fine now with USB 3.0 & 2.0 eaceful:
