Out of curiousity, I called the CC personel today. He said they got the message of speed increase to 1 MBPS (he was talking abt 1 MBPS not 2 MBPS), official order has not yet arrived.

I am sure that they are not gonna provide us with 2 Mbps connection right away. Like some said in the earlier post they are going to first upgrade it to 1 Mpbs and then after a while (Don't know how long that is) to 2 Mpbs

What a shame .. No change in speed for unlimited users.. too bad.
speeds in other plans are supposed to be variable between 256k-2Mbps
BSNL does it again..fraud band of the year.
lets start mail bombing and shifting our plans to Home 500

Wait not be in such a hurry ! From 256 kbps to 2 Mbps simply means except between 2 am -8 am the speed would be 2Mbps for sure so enjoy !!!

as per my understanding (as per this chart) night unlimited is also going to get speeds of up to 2 mbps...also do note it guys, it's "whenever technically feasible"...so it's not like 2 mbps always...it'll fluctuate between 256 kbps to 2 mbps...

No, NU and Purely Unlimited plans are OUT of the picture for 2Mbps! This SUCKS! :(

The speeds are given as 256kbps up to 2Mbps to avoid complaints since TRAI had set broadband standards stating that ISPs have to provide minimum 80% of the rated bandwidth at all times.

^ perhaps but it could have the nice side-effect of inducing other ISPs to start say 512kbps unlimited plans. So disappointing as it may be, it may end up acting like a catalyst for improvement. If the standard of limited plans becomes 1mbps and 2mbps connections, then they won't be able to offer unlimited connections as low as 256kbps only for very long.

I am sorry guys but I gonna spit on the face of BSNL... Broadband in India will suck big time and AHs like us don't have any other choice but to accept what they give and what they ask for (Big bucks)... This is totally shit...

I am apologize for my rude behavior... But this is terrible...

Does this mean that people can enjoy the speeds excluding the NU timings??? If yes then this is SO pathetic.
All these expectations put to NOTHING... People in our neighboring countries are getting VERY high speeds at a VERY low price...
I think broadband will remain to be fraudband in India...

BSNL Chennai officially published new dataone plans on their site.No additon of bandwidth for unlimited plans. Marans statement about 1Mbps to 2 Mbps not for unlimited plan... Protest against the Sucking Bsnl by shifting Home 900 plan to plan500 or plan250
