speeds are pretty good...... I always(almost) get 28-30KB/s.

The 256kbps plan speeds are pretty good because they are low, on a 1Mbps plan the average speeds are around 70KB/s (560kbps).

What ONLY 70 KB/s on a 1Mbps connection??? One should be able to get 120+ KB/s with that connection. The full speed will fall between 120-125 KB/s...

Yeah well it should but BSNL clearly doesn't have enough international bandwidth.

i think i read somewhere it was just 2.5 Gs , soon to be upgraded to 20 Gs... and i think thats gigabytes per sec, not gigabits

How much bandwidth currently bsnl has??
[/b]
Too much!

I don't have that problem with Reliance. I get full 300 KBPS at all times, sometimes topping at 42KB/sec. I've even tried their select service at Rs.22/hour for 1MBPS and I've never gotten anything less than 130KB/secIm hopping BSNL will slash prices so Reliance follows to compete. Then I can finally get that 4MBPS speed they offer which currently is Rs. 5000 which is still low compared to standards set by local ISP's.
