Jio blocked port forwarding on IPv6

Was trying to set up my server on the IPv6 connection only to find out that none of the port forwarding options were working. Did all types of troubleshooting only to discover that no actual port forwarding takes place on the backend.

Called Jio Customer Care to confirm the same and they said port forwarding is blocked on both IPv4 and IPv6 connections and is only possible on a static IP. I don't know why they have the need to do this to IPv6 as well.

The support rep has supplied you with false information; IPv6 does not need port forwarding at all. You can allow specific ports in the firewall to reach your IPv6 enabled client device.

1. For Windows, you need to disable temporary IPv6 assignment first.
2. Copy Paste the below 2 lines in Elevated Terminal or cmd

netsh interface ipv6 set global randomizeidentifiers=disabled
netsh interface ipv6 set privacy state=disabled

3. Reboot your PC
4. Go to settings app of Windows. (Not the old Control Panel)
5. Go to Network & Internet -> Ethernet or Wifi (Depending what interface you use)
6. Copy the IPv6 assigned to your PC. (It must not start with fe80 Jio's IPv6 starts with 2405)
7. Go to login page of your JFHG router and login.
8. Under security, IPv6, add the copied IPv6 of your PC and port you want to unblock. Enable the rule.

That's it.

Sometimes randomly or periodically, Jio assigns a different IPv6 prefix to your account. You have to again modify the changed PC's IPv6 in router's GUI page.

Alternatively, You can set up port mapping any 3 PCs by calling Jio customer care and telling them that you want to watch your CCTV cameras on your mobile. Guide is here

After a 15-16 hrs outage, I am not able to have incoming traffic to my IPv6 server, Did Jio also block IPv6 inbound connections?

@Raster4312 Your IPv6 prefix must have changed. Add new IPv6 assigned to your server under Jio Firewall’s exceptions.
