Hey everyone, I’ve been facing a frustrating issue with my Jio Fiber 100 Mbps plan and wanted to share the full story maybe others are going through the same.

Until 15 October 2025, my connection was perfectly fine. I consistently got around 103 Mbps download and 110–120 Mbps upload — exactly what Jio advertises: 100 Mbps Upload & Download.

Then suddenly, my upload speed dropped to 20 Mbps. I thought maybe it was due to the festive holidays or the AWS outage that week, so I waited a few days. But the issue never went away.

15–20 Oct: Upload speeds dropped sharply, download was fine.

20 Oct: I tweeted Jio about it — they DMed me with the usual “restart router” stuff.

21 Oct: I called jio fiber customer care and they assigned engineer

22–24 Oct: Contacted local Jio service team (the guys who handle installations). They either didn’t answer or kept saying “holiday, will check later.”

29 Oct: Two technicians visited, tested speeds, and said “router needs replacement.” They replaced it the after 3 days — same issue persisted. They also reset my router from the backend 5–6 times, but no fix.

5 Nov: For one hour, upload speed suddenly returned to 113 Mbps after I restarted the router from the MyJio app — then dropped again after 1 hour to 20 Mbps.

6 Nov: Engineer told me, “Sir, this can’t be fixed. It’s a new policy from Jio head office. YOUR SPEED WILL BE THE SAME(100MB/S DOWNLOAD AND 20MB/S UPLOAD).

The plan I paid for explicitly mentions 100 Mbps upload + 100 Mbps download (IT'S GIGAFIBER OR YOU CAN CALL NORMAL FIBER NOT AIRFUC**ING FIBER).

They are silently capping upload speed to 20 Mbps, without any official communication.

Local support teams are clueless — some even admitted it’s “a backend problem.”

When I asked for cancellation, they said no refund even though I still have ₹350 in voucher balance. (i hold cancellation for consumer forum case proceeding)

I tested in almost all devices available on my end, I'm using LAN only (no wifi or any wireless connection connected to my PC), i tried 5GHZ beside router on my phone and speed is same 100mb/s Download and 20mb/s upload

TL;DR: Jio Fiber is silently throttling upload speeds to 20 Mbps on 100 Mbps plans. Engineers admit it’s policy. Still advertising 100 Mbps up + down.
