Use the browser devtools, you will find the HTTP requests in the network tab.
From that you can get the hostname of the server

@Rickysin More like Google issue imo. It was similar even when I had RailWire. They would often use Delhi server even though my ping was better on Mumbai server.

It is still the same in JioFiber for me. 😂 It is almost always Delhi server.

@Rickysin No idea how Google decides the server for the users. It is same for me in Jio and Railwire both.

In RailWire, I thought it was because my IP address was mostly from Kolkata, Patna or some city of Jharkhand.

In case of Jio, it is mostly from Chhattisgarh. So, no idea why it still does that.

Funny thing... when I was on RailWire with Mumbai gateway, I had 22ms on Mumbai and 50ms on Delhi and Chennai. IP address from Mumbai. And Google still made me test speed mostly on Delhi or Chennai server. 😂

Edit- Getting Mumbai server (which I should) on JioFiber but each time I am tapping Try Again, it is different. Some time Chennai, some time Delhi.

i have solved the issue as why we are getting far servers and sometimes close proximity servers on google speed test.
it is because of routing or peering of jio/airtel/tata

when i clicked on google speed test, i got assigned with chennai server because at that time delhi and mumbai server was having high ping of 60 ms and chennai server was having 45 ms ping. this is due to the fact that the server of delhi and mumbai were hosted by airtel and chennai was hosted on tata communications.

if we ping airtel ip from jio fiber it is always high ping like 50-60 ms. this may be because of bad routing by either airtel or jio to each other.

when i tested again and got assigned with delhi server of google speed test, i got 6 ms ping and when i checked the ip it was of tata communication.

so conclusion is that jio and tata is having either good peering or routing with each other than airtel.

case closed!

edit: google speed test is having 2-3 server of delhi / mumbai / chennai hosted by airtel and tata
