Jiofiber vs Airtel Broadband

Hello, I'm really fed up with Act broadband connectivity. The internet connection drops at least 4-5 times every day. Customer service is abysmal. Their normal response to any problem is to blame the router.

Considering switching to Jio or Airtel. Can you share your experience if you use Jio or Airtel? Is the connectivity/service superior to Act? Is it worthwhile to transfer from Act to Jio or Airtel? I'm leaning toward Jio because it offers more possibilities for OTT subscriptions and Jiotv+. However, internet connectivity is my top priority.

if you are not into gaming and just want normal surfing and OTT then jio is good option.
if you are looking for low latency and bit faster load time then airtel is best.

Conclusion is that both jio and airtel is best. if you have both at your location then airtel is 1st choice.

Using Airtel and Jio both.

Broadband - Airtel is better and is superior to Jio in terms of speed and latency.

If you opt for STB - Airtel is Satellite box(hangs) and Jio is iptv, Jio is far superior in this with user experience and seamless OTT interface, airtel stb is sluggish and is less user friendly.

Opt for provider whichever offers service first
I followed up with Airtel to provide broadband for 2 year, but they simply said there is no coverage in my area/society.
Then last year Jio and Tata Play both came to my society, and Jio was quick to fill forms and provide active connection next day.

So far I am satisfied with Jio Fiber and can recommend for casual users who need good internet connection (not sure about gamers).

First check with your neighbors about service quality for both airtel and jio, quality of service can totally vary depending upon where you live. I know that ACT customer service is very poor in some cities but my experience was totally different when i used it in BLR. ACT is great there.
Coming to your question, both Airtel and Jio are FTTH(airtel still provides VDSL connection in some areas, do check with your neighbors and field technician before installation). They have very minimal downtime in general. ACT uses FTTB(cat 5e cable to the router).
I personally feel one should prioritize quality of service instead of OTT and set top box bundle as the primary function of broadband is to provide seemless internet connectivity.
ACT has the best routing. Very good pings to domestic and international servers. Airtel is at par if not superior compared to ACT. Jio has sub par routing compared to ACT and airtel. If these things don't matter to you, go with Jio if service is good in your locality. It offers value for money STB and OTT bundle and no other operator comes even close in terms of VFM.

@Rickysin what you said sounds good when everything's in place. Jio is supposed to have strict NAT while it varies for Airtel. Having talked to the Airtel manager of my city, my experience is completely opposite. That guy said we don't "sell" it saying it's for gaming so you cannot complain. LOL. Jio fixed each and every issue I had. Still waiting for a similar response from Airtel. Regular packet losses and high pings on Airtel compared to Jio at least in my city.

Connection drops, speed issues etc are not necessarily ISP/operator's fault. Sometimes your router/modem overheats from long continue use, which causes connection issues. Try to keep your router/modem slightly elevated on it's legs, so air can pass underneath and it doesn't overheat from the bottom. Also regularly clean up the dust buildup around it and keep your room well ventilated. This solves a lot of connection issues and your router/modem will also last longer.
