Seems really a good idea to me too! Too bad even the courts here are useless. I think the main reason behind all this is that the Judges of these courts or even the politicians, are personally biased against the Internet revolution thats going on.....their age - the bloody oldies always hate all such stuff.
 
I call it Talibanisation of India.......You cannot protest against the govt and if you protest you will be beaten up in the dead of the night......You cannot even protest in the cyber world now....."They will ban it like China".....or they will censor the words "Sonia and Rahul" on the websites like Pakistan does it.....I don't know why the govt is so worried about National Integrity when they themselves divide the people for votes.....They have enough resources to censor websites but they don't have resources to secure common people.....

All these actions are just making it simpler for voters.......everyone please wake up, and ensure that the UPA doesnt come back into power! If it is back, we will be worse off than China too.......
 
it's a shame that google india lawyers have to remind the courts about the democratic nature of our existence.

Google India, which along with 20 websites is facing criminal case for allegedly hosting objectionable materials, today told the Delhi high court that blocking them was not an option as demorcratic India does not a "totalitarian" regime like China.

"The issue relates to a constitutional issue of freedom of speech and expression and suppressing it was not possible as the right to freedom of speech in democratic India separates us from a totalitarian regime like China," advocate N K Kaul, appearing for Google India, told Justice Suresh Kait.

Jaymin remember in that god thread, we were discussing about astrology and you pointed out that the SC has accepted it as valid and I refuted it saying I dont buy the SC's views on everything. I am hoping you got the point now. :P
 
Well, SC is still a higher court than HC. And the more bigger the bench in SC, the better it is. So ultimately when something goes to larger benches of SC, u can be assured of some justice. But here, as it appears from the wordings of various articles, i guess this is a single bench.......else such nonsensical statements cant come.

So the context here is that larger benches arent appointed for cases like these.....in that manner courts are useless!

U appoint larger benches, with wider representation of demography - may be old & young judges & immediately u wud see that more fairer statements wud come in respect of this particular case.
