In the statement Facebook said, "We want Facebook to be a place where people can discuss things freely, while respecting the rights and feelings of others, which is why we have already have policies and on-site features in place that enable people to report abusive content."
"We will remove any content that violates our terms, which are designed to keep material that is hateful, threatening, incites violence or contains nudity off the service," the statement added.

everyone is in a hurry to control the net, without even understanding what the tech really is, in U.S SOPA/PIPA is all about censorship , same thing asking the site owners to monitor the content, which for sites like FB, tweet, google is next to impossible , plus of course this goes against the very basic freedom of speech , what this jerks cannot understand is this freedom cannot be curbed on net , so suck on that . here in India we gave up our basic privacy on net after the IT of 2008 under the guise national security , every one gets their sentiments hurt by something out here , one piece of advice to those jerks, grow a pair !!

Apparently, Kapil Sibal, India's Minister for Telecommunications, doesn't comprehend the scale of what he's asking, or the fact that it's impossible. How does one become a bureaucrat in charge of a technology field when one can't comprehend such basic concepts? Oh crap, do I have to pre-screen for such "disparaging" remarks now?
Seriously, we're seeing this kind of insanity more and more these days, where politicians, who clearly have absolutely no freaking clue about the technology they're regulating, are coming up with positively insane suggestions, with no comprehension about the ramifications. The end effect in this case, would almost certainly be the end of any kind of user-generated content system in India. Is that really what Sibal wants?

its a welcome decision looking at recent events like the London riots, wall street occupy, arab uprisings etc the internet must be censored to good extent so that in coming future internet can not be blamed for something unwanted happened because of it.
