Today I went directly to the LCO's office and visited his server room and he allowed me to test all the ISPs directly, he was also very friendly that we went on long conversations on how things work there and I also shared my knowledge about networking with him, like latencies and stuff which he didn't know much about.
He was providing through 5 ISPs,
KV, Asianet, Alliance, BSNL and surprisingly enough he also recently got a connection from Railtel (Railwire)
Upon testing all the connections, latencies to international servers like Germany, London and Singapore varied vastly.
I was getting pretty good pings like 49-50 ms through Alliance and BSNL but the speed was a real bummer, I guess BSNL has a very bad peering issue.. I was getting like 13 Mbps to Germany and London with a 200 Mbps connection..
After multitudes of tests, looking at the latencies to Germany and London it was like almost double or triple on both Alliance and BSNL.
Finally he revealed that he recently got a Railwire connection, I told him I already had a Railwire account and asked him to try my
ONT credentials, he then created a new route with appropriate VLAN ID and used my credentials, it worked right away. I conducted all my tests, surprisingly everything as usual like from my old home, latency is lower and getting my plan's speed... I then decided go along with it.. He also mentioned about mailing Railtel team about the LCO change for my account.
But anyways, as it's possible to try out all the ISPs, or have multiple ISPs through the same connection, I mentioned it and he was willing to provide it without any issues.
I might get all of them and provide the results soon. But for now am just relieved to going back to Railwire which has rock solid for me for the entirety of my stay at my last house.
