Hi Everyone. I would like everyone to get posted about this new unfair thing introduced by Sify for Linux users. Sify has recently introduced a new Broadband client version 3.0 for linux users. The previous client was pretty much useful . But this client seems to give a hell lot of problems specially for the users of Ubuntu. I installed the client successfully but when it comes to running it fails. I Contacted the Customercare regarding my problem and i was very much surprised by the solution they gave me. I told them iam unable to run my client in linux. They gave me the answer my saying " Sir, There is a new rule adopted by sify saying "If you use Dual booting i.e. Winxp and linux, you will only be able to use our client on one operating system rather than both... I also told these people to Bypass my ip in linux. They said "It can't happen".

Tell them you want to use linux only . Then if your linux client starts working then you can use supersify to login from windows . I did that before and i am able to use both sify's bband client and supersify ( with -o option sometimes ) and both works fine for me from my assigned ip address .
