Let's talk about Airtel vs Jio's DNS servers

Use dnscheck.tools - check your dns resolvers to check your resolving speed.

IMO, it's not a 100% precise but gives a general idea of what to expect.

I get sub 180ms times with Cloudflare. 300 - 500ms with Airtel and 700+ with Google and 1.5s with Quad9

This is how it looks in mine:

Browser - Secure DNS:
OpenDNS - 95-115ms
Google DNS - 150-350ms
Cloudflare - 200-260ms

On router:
Jio - 1900-3500ms (obtain from ISP option)
Google DNS - 450-750ms

Yes, but I want to change the DNS settings in the Jio router. Where should I change it? I updated the DNS settings in the LAN section, but after retesting on the DNSCheck site, it still shows Jio's DNS. I changed the settings to Cloudflare for both IPv4 and IPv6 in the Jio router section. @Zuke

Ok, I used this tool - dnscheck.tools and got the following resolving speeds: on my jio fiber

• Jio's own DNS: 1514ms
• Google DNS: 796ms
• Cloudflare: 348ms
• Quad9: 341ms

@raj17 I don't remember perfectly but I remember having to change IPv4 DNS at two places, and IPv6 DNS getting reset after every restart.

@raj17 I turned off DDOS protection on my router. That helped with DNS resolving speeds. I use custom DNS directly on the router.

My lowest is 65ms from Open DNS. DNS set on router.
