just should have bought an el-cheapo modem put in bridged mode n attached it to a decent dd-wrt router...i have an akeoo ADSL modem bought for around 800 bucks doing duty for nearly 2 yrs now connected to a TP-Link WR941 ND flashed with DD-WRT
^^ I couldn't hear any noise on the land line, I even called Airtel a few times and they came and checked the line. As soon as I connect the Airtel Beetel modem I get stable connections with no drops.^ I don't have any electrical sockets to spare, that's why I wanted a modem + router.Anyone have any recommendations for a modem + router that works with Airtel?
Yeah, cyberwiz is right. Any DSL router *should* work.
Belkin Basic Modem Router (N150) (Black) - A colleague bought this for his new Airtel line, from Flipkart, around 2 weeks ago. He has no problems. It's now Rs. 2526. I do not know about the range, as his laptop is in the same room.
Not resolved, after multiple calls with Linksys CC they said I just have to RMA it. The RMA center is quite far from where I live so I've been trying to avoid 2 trips but it seems that I have to go and give them my modem before they send a replacement.
Just to update, got the replacement after RMA but its the same story. It keeps getting disconnected. So if you have an Airtel connection you might want to think twice before buying Linksys.
is your problem resolved or still you are having the issue ?
Problem with Linksys never got resolved. However I purchase another modem+router of TP-Link (TD-W8961ND). It's a N300 router and works very well (1 week since I bought). I am quite satisfied with it's performance. It costs around 2400/- here in Bangalore.
