i dont know much about 3G and stuffs but what i can say is that mobile (i mean Nokia 3G handsets like 5800XM C6 X6 etc) wont give u great speeds on 3G coz their parameters are not equal to the data card.... in mobile maximum possible downlink speed is 384 kbps ..... same for datacard also... but what u get with datacard is HSDPA .. which actually gives u the great speed.... Nokia mobile doesnt have HSDPA.... thats why u wont get good speeds... just try ur same sim on a iPAD and see the difference in speed.... iPAD wud give u same speed as a datacard.... its better to use Datacard if ur using it for heavy downloads and video streaming (HD categorically) .... if i am wrong sumwhr plz do correct me.... as i said i am not much sound abt 3G .

i am using 3G through teracom data card ,earlier i used to get 0.5 -1 Mbps during day and around 2Mbps during night time. But since last 15 days my day time speed don't even touches 0.2Mbps constantly and night speed only touches 0.5Mbps. i am totally clueless over these sudden drop in speed. In fact recently my signal strength got improved from 2 to 3 bars :| But still no use :( Any body using 3g in and around wakad ,pimple saudagar please share your speeds. i want to know if only am facing this problem or the entire area itself?

Hi, TOO!

I've already told you that you gotta get in touch with the BSNL people to fix this. Looks like they sold you a faulty SIM. :|

yeah, i have seen such instances on another forum

best way is to replace the faulty SIM

Once the speed drops (check it for 1 week to confirm) to 340~ kBps browsing, you only need to change your SIM. It is due to BSNL's authentication problem which is unable to differentiate BSNL 2G and 3G consumer in internet access field.

I think there is some settings problem on handset or PC.My friend gets above 2 mbps on Nokia 5800xmIs you SIM on 3G plan or 2G plan? How do you connect your phone to PC (Data Cable, Bluetooth, WiFi - using Joikuspot)If using Data Cable or BT check max port speed for modem in Control Panel -> Phones & modem -> select the modem and click on properties -> go to Modem tab

nokia 5800 and c6 both supports hsdpa. and i am using n97 which gives me 1.5 to 2.5 mbps speed.

I have already done of checking and setting about that as well as inserted the SIM to another phone like Nokia 5700 XpressMusic too but it is still not successful

buddy i think u r using that old tricked plan of bsnl 3g on 2g with 274 rs unlimited

now it's stopped. so, if i m not wrong then u have to recharge ur account with 3g suitable plan after that u will able to get the 3g speed.

or

u can contact to coustmer care otherwise just meet the bsnl guys on bajirao road for complaint..

regards
Rohit
