Hi all... Well, there's just SUCH a lot of choices around in mobile phones nowadays... I really didn't know where to start looking... then I stumbled upon this forum, and I guess this's a great place to start... I'm looking for a mobile phone with usage mainly for Messaging (SMS's) and Calling... so very basic- NO camera necessary, NO Music Player needed, NO external memory, NO fancy Applications needed... But what IS needed is a good looker... it's gotta look good, feel good to hold and use... by "good" I don't mean fancy or anything- my current phone is the (now out of production) Samsung C110, which's a pretty simple phone; I absolutely love this phone, and would gladly have bought another one of the same model, if only they hadn't discontinued it... :isorry:.I guess Must-haves are: 1. Good looks, slim. 2. Decent-sized screen, polyphonic ringtones, colour display.3. T9 feature in Messages (VERY important), comfortable messaging interface. 4. Decent Inbox Size for messages, and Phonebook should hold around 1000 contacts. 5. PC Synchronization via USB cable. 6. Good sound quality (during calls).7. Preferably, multiple themes/customizable interface. There, that's about it... I'm not really keen on storing files/music on my phone, and so Bluetooth and extendable/external memory really aren't necessary. Problem is, the low-end phones in the market don't really look good, or have a non-pleasing interface... and anything above that gets overloaded (by my standards) with features like camera and external memory and music player... So could you guys suggest a phone for me? Guess I needn't specify budget, since my requirements would automatically rule out expensive phones... Oh, also, if anyone in Bangalore has a Samsung C110 (in good/decent condition), and is willing to sell it, do let me know :)... Thanks in advance!!! :).

i know your plight. it is becoming impossible to get decent cheap phones. mobile phone makers would put in a camera, a media player for the sake of it increasing the cost of the phone itself. i would love to have a similar phone that focuses on providing a great user interface for communicating through sms and calls. but they are hard to find nowadays.

even i want a very simple phone for my mom. minimum features but easy to use.

Ah, thank you all for your responses :). Checked out the links you guys sent; but none of them did it for me... Guess ajab.ghajab's right... I'll have to go for a phone with camera (and hence extendable memory and folder organization, etc.), I guess... I was at the mobile shop, and I saw this (relatively) new Samsung Model- C3010S... looks neat (wish it was available in non-black colours, though...), and I suppose at around 3500- 4000 bucks, it's a good bet... but I heard that they've [already] discontinued it, and are now running only the Slide version (personally, I hate all but Bar-type phones) of that now... think that's called C3050, in case any of you is interested... Bye, then... :bowtoyou: .

You may want to try Sony W200i, I've been using it for over 2 yrs for call, messaging purpose. it comes with a good-for-nothing VGA camera and a decent walkman. Earpiece volume isnt that good especially for noisy environments, speakerphone is pretty good though. the keypad is nice, good for typing messages. Last time i checked out during April, it was still available in stores priced around 3-3.5 K.
