if they are more than a few years old. it might be time to change them.
if they are giving less than expected backup despite getting enough time to charge.

My inverter battery lasted for 3 years. After 3 years, whenever electricity supply was gone and inverter started on battery power, beeping sound was coming after ~1 hour. Inverter (Microtek) also had low battery indicator which was ON during beeping sound. If electricity supply did not resume after 1 hour, inverter stopped with long beeping sound. I had to manually power off inverter (and wait for power supply to resume).
New battery lasted 7-8 hours, so never faced such issue in first 2-2.5 years.

basically get an inverter/battery guy to visit. he should be able to check with a multimeter if the batteries are holding charge iirc. but if the batteries are more than 3-4 years old... they most likely would require replacement. get amaron if you have some other brand right now.

of course, if you are not topping them up with distilled water once or twice a year, that could be causing the problem as well.

I never topped up with distilled water for 2 years as water indicators were always showing full. I regularly sent photos of battery water level indicator to the guy who installed inverter/battery. He said it was fine and no need to top-up. But once battery started giving problem, he said it might be due to low water :(

If your area doesn't get very long power cuts... There might not be a need put in water regularly.

Plus the whole thing is a complicated mess. You put in water to balance pH iirc. You are not supposed to fill it to the top which we tend to do lol. Battery people carry a pH measuring device iirc.

Batteries last quite long, if you regularly maintain water levels once every few months. Call luminous to send a technician to check, usually it is some issue with pcb. 200-300 will be his visiting charge.

Also power cuts are rare now specially in winter so try to power off the MCB and allow battery to discharge a little once in 2-3 weeks.

If there is a beep sound, check if one of the lamps on the front panel lights up during the beep. There are two lamps that denotes low battery and an overload.
