Hey Everyone,
So I've been trying to get this problem fixed for six months now!
Ever since January 2013 my line gets disconnected every 3-8 minutes.
I've called the helpline and everything, they claim to have done whatever they can apart from changing the lines since supposedly the lineman is 'Not Responding', yes that's right since the last six months the line man just decided he does not want to do his work.
Is there any, I mean ANY alternative to this nightmare!
Due to this issue I've not been able to take a single call (international on my lync) from home,
and surfing the net is so incredibly frustrating.
Seriously considering switching to Airtel, because for some cryptic reason there is NO, absolutely NO other ISP willing to provide a connection in my area (Juhu, J.V.P.D.).
Spearhead was willing to but they wanted 5k connection charge and a 1 year commitment, good luck with that.
My Stats:
ADSL Firmware Version : FwVer:3.5.10.0_A_TC3084 HwVer:T14.F7_1.0
Line State: Showtime
Modulation: ADSL2 PLUS
Annex Mode: ANNEX_A

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin : 44.5 8.0 db
Line Attenuation: 20.0 15.3 db
Data Rate: 2048 1021 kbps

I don't hope to gain anything from posting this,
besides just venting my frustration.

Does ur line hav noise??? is it clear??
Try chging to G.Dmt modulation instead of ADSL2+....... it has helped me a lot whenever my line is unstable/line stats r miserable......

There used to be heavy noise to the point that it just completely went dead, until last month,
then the service guys tried some permutation and combinations on the switch board in my building and now the phone works perfectly.
And yes I have tried all the variations of modulations,
G.Dmt makes my attenuation and SNR swing very badly and makes it even more unstable :(
Just got back on the call from Airtel and they have refused,
only option left is Reliance, but I've heard quite a lot of horror stories about them, I don't think there is any other viable alternative though.
If only Hayai would give service here, they are just on the border!

Line stats are very good. Seems like a server misconfig from mtnl's side. Try using the complaint form in my signature.

The reason nobody else is in your area is very simple: Seven Star Cable.
They'll provide you Sify if you want it though.

@X720
Can you shed some more light on the server misconfig?
I tried using the form in your sig, and predictably it says 'Database is down, please try again after some time'.
@Sai I did but no repsonse.
I am going to write another letter in the next week, not expecting much though,
@mgcarley
Seven Star won't touch my building!Called so many times, they seem to have abandoned this part of their territory.
Just a glimpse of my misery, my net disconnected 3 times in the past 15 minutes, each time the disconnection lasting for more than 1 minute.
Additionally the ADSL light does not switch off, I repeat does NOT switch off.
Moreover, in the status section both the Virtual connections PVC0 and PVC1 remain connected, I am inclined to think that there is something rather complicated going on here.
Anyway, I think I will be going with Reliance for now and keep this pathetic excuse of an internet connection as an ancillary,
I have read equally depressing horror stories about Reliance, but I need a stable connection.

Hmm. Should explore that but I wonder if it wouldn't be one of those "I don't want it but you can't have it either" situations.
