Max Download Speed Rcvd After Upgrade

lol its impossible to et 280 kBps dowlaod speed.

fr ur pic and file size i think its small speed burst which materializes on 215kps if file is large

^i think the same...though microsoft has one of the fastest servers available...still it can't go above 256 kBps theoretically...

try some big file like 20 or 30 mB then send because its dosn't happen.
you download approx. 500 kB file & your connection is 2mBps.

my connection is 512 kBps and it sometime show 187 or someting kBps.

i'm getting abt 170+ kb/sec consistently using download managers.haven't tried BT yet though.

@sanke1 - even I'm aware of da fact tht its a small burst. I just gave da screenshot because it was something unusual. Its nothing to do with speeds I get regularly. Plz change the way u post....there r smarter ppl than u in this forum

that means that connection is 16mbps ??

Actually 2 Mbps = 2000 Kilobits per second and not 2048 Kilobits per second

Since we are synced at 2048 Kbps the theoretical max speed that we can get is 2048000/8 = 256,000 bytes
256,000/1024 = 250 KiloBytes/second

However the other overheads involved in the connection ie pppoe, IP,TCP, etc amount to about 13% loss.

Therefore practically the speed that we can expect to get is

2048 - 2048 * 13% = 1782 Kbps = 217 Kilobytes/second
