They're importing Mi 10s and not locally assembling it here, unlike OnePlus. Hence taxes are quite high.

The higher price was hinted by their India head quite a while ago.

Btw, a genuine question. Why is everyone shocked or surprised as if this is the first phone to be sold at this price?

I guess the main reason is because Xiaomi is known to price their smartphones quite aggressively while this one is not.

If you ask me this is still decent pricing because if I were in their place, I would price it at least 60k given how high taxes have gone. But I guess Xiaomi has ads so it can still manage this.

The argument here is OnePlus 8 with similar configuration is priced much lower. You also get an IP rating. And you can get OnePlus 8 Pro if you can push your budget a bit. And you get a much cleaner UI and yeah, no ads too

Although I highly doubt Xiaomi is stupid enough to push ads on their flagships.

Poco F1 doesn't have any ads, period.

Main draw back is MiUi which is a heavily customised skin and poor software updates will ruin every thing as time passes. Maybe they will not purposely degrade this flagship like their Redmi series let's see... But my opinion is only higher megapixel lovers and Xiaomi fan boys will get Mi 10 at this price points rest of them will focus on OnePlus
