Micromax today announced yet another device in its Canvas range, this time with a quad-core processor from MediaTek. The A116 Canvas HD features a 5-inch 720p HD display, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of memory, an 8-megapixel camera and runs on Android Jelly Bean.
The Canvas HD will be launched in February for less than Rs 15,000. It is Micromax’s first smartphone with a quad-core processor. The A116 Canvas HD runs on MediaTek’s MT6589 1.2GHz quad-core processor.

my friend just ordered canvas 2, should i tell him to cancel his order?
the next canvas is definetly a better deal,.. but anyone has any idea about price and availablity?
Most likely Feb-end or Mar-beginning if you believe the article(s). Also I personally think it would be close to 14 with MRP at 15 , simply because Canvas 2 is still doing ok, even at 12.5 . Ofcourse it might come down after the initial boost, but by then you would have the Canvas 4 or whatever it would be called coming up.

^ may be u and me can start a short time listing on ebay , buy it from poorvika chennai and sell it to ghpk

But if you see ghpk is looking to buy at cheaper than 12.5k ,whereas we see buyers at even 12.5k for this dealer.
yups cause I am not able to digest this price hike, due to contacts in most companies/distribution channels I would not throw money on it.
However tonight 9:30pm I had a word with someone who looks after distribution of micromax mobiles in atleast 3 cities, (will not list the cities) but he clearly told me that Supply is almost stalled from top, and this may be some software revision or some update on pricing or some very justified reason, but distributors have not been issued with new order and anybody selling is from stock already floated in market.
He's a few decade old common friend and has promised me to get more details and give me a ring as soon he has a update and if i still needed one, he would get me one at Distributor's price along bill.

This phone has become a sort of "Talk of the town" these days. Some say Micromax giving iPhone like features for 12k. Some say Micromax giving S2/S3 like features for 12k!

There is a girl in my college who has a Micromax model (can't recall the model number. It is one of the ICS models). Micromax hasn't changed the UI much so it obviously looks similar to stock and so to my Galaxy Nexus. And then she compares her phone with my phone and says, 'Ek jaisa hi toh dikhta hai, kuch farak nahi hai'.
Ab kya karen, sunna bhi padhta hai. Ladki sundar ho toh bhagwaan jaane kya kya jhelna padhta hai.
