It should have been OTA.
Either way, it was a good move on the part of Micromax. Flashed JB onto my friend's phone through CWM. Works like a charm.

Warranty at the cost of flexibility? Most non-mainstream Android users shunt that
Never really cared for warranty (on an Android). Rooted my first Android (Galaxy y) the day I bought it.
