does not really sound like a good excuse to me. i personally use Dropbox to sync photos from the phone to my computer. and then upload it to google drive. google drive on android does not have a sync feature as well. funny i end up using dropbox just for automated sharing.

i was using g+ for autosync(instant upload)... but later disabled it. because most of the time, i ended up with some junk photos clicked up either me or by my kid and i dont want waste my bandwidth by auto uploading this and started using dropbox.

you can set it to only upload images when the phone is on wifi (and charging). that's how i have programmed it to so that it uses home's bandwidth.
Actually box does have a sync client but only for corporate users. That pretty much defeats the purpose.
right. my point was about free account users. there are third party solutions that work. socialfolders is one. there are likely to be many others.
SkyDrive Upgrade options are affordable.
this pains me because google paid storage was awesomely priced before they launched google drive. now microsoft has the cheapest storage plans out of these three.
