yeah i know. found out on that day itself. still not used to the new icons being used by microsoft. windows 8 is going to be confusing for a couple of days.
the concept is cool. but there are big problems...
1. Developers have to give 30% of their revenue to Microsoft.
2. People who have existing licenses might find it hard to get the paid version from the store (though Microsoft does offer ways).
3. People would eventually be scared of downloading and installing apps that are not on the Windows Store.
4. Microsoft moderate apps that are available through Windows Store.
Microsoft is creating a closed ecosystem just like Apple's mac....Its not a good idea!!
well windows rt is closed. that is confirmed. but windows 8 is not. what they would do in windows 9? we cannot tell for sure. as of now, windows store is good for the consumer. not so good for the developers.
Andrew Sokolowski, a lawyer in Los Angeles, claims that he bought a Surface with 32 gigabytes of storage last week. But he quickly ran out of space after loading it with music and Microsoft Word documents.
He discovered that a significant portion of the 32 GB storage space was being used by the operating system and pre-installed apps such as Word and Excel. Only 16 GB was available for him to use.
she has been doing a lot of marketing for surface claiming it to be an exceptional product. but apparently she herself prefers to use an ipad. that's the only point.
Hmm... ok.. I was not aware of the marketing part. I was thinking she has bought them as gifts and its not mandatory that she needs to throw away her old gadgets just because she liked a new one.
