All this unlimited drama has resulted in more expenditure out of pocket.
Earlier used to spend Rs119 for 84 days in aircel for calling minutes.
Now even to activate sim atleast Rs99 required.
And 4g speeds are same as 3g speeds back then for most parts.

Well truth be told it has increased wireless penetrance and improved public access to the Internet at large. Also the public these days understand the utility of internet and broadband, even if they’ve only ever used a smartphone as their first Internet device ever. It’s time to increase prices and improve capex, especially in areas where people are stuck with <10 Mbps speeds.

I totally understand that they are giving unlimited calls and per day GB etc and at these costs it may not work for them. But in this case, they are making someone who needs basic services only also pay close to the amount who is utilizing a lot more - and that itself is a debate as to how much more - because even though I am on an unlimited plan - due to WFH - I dont use mobile internet and use less than 5 mins on an avg in calls. But atleast its a primary number - so I dont mind paying it.

Not to mention the grand scam of "Lifetime incoming free" or something of that sort bundled plans they sold etc.

All I am saying is let them increase the price of high utilization plans and rationalize plans for less data/calls users.

They all are money making corporates and I don't feel anything like this will happen ever. I am guessing in coming years there won't be 2g and than what will happen to my basic phone:(

I wish we have bsnl in ncr, honestly i want 2g to continue for users like me who still uses a 2g phone as a primary number. All these unlimited plans are waste of money for me and I wish telecos have some cheap plans like earlier days as keeping a secondary sim is a costly affair now a days. I know users like me are very limited but still there are many who wants cheap plans for their secondary sims or those who are in rural areas are now forced to recharge their phones just for incoming.

This thing called blanket charge where everyone is clubbed under single slab irrespective of your consumption is now becoming a norm.
Recently, my pipeline gas has moved to a single slab wherein everyone gets charged based on units consumed while earlier the charges were based on which slot you fit in and per unit rate. Clearly, the people consuming lower units are hit the hardest.
Guess, that's the perks that come with privatisation.
