Too late. BJP has damaged their image so much by being adamant about having this guy in his position. Congress has had a lot of leaders who were pointed fingers at, and almost all of them were either fired or resigned, and some of them even landed up in jail. The larger good (of the party) has been in their mind, as opposed to the BJP who are mostly interested in short term gains. Current politics needs new age shrewdness which most parties lack.
