I've missed a CC payment on 16th Oct and paid it on 20th Oct.
I totally forgot about the due date and now i have to pay almost 700 INR as late payment charges for a amount due of just 750 INR spent:(.
Apart from the late fees i'm very much worried about my CIBIL score get affected due to this.
Should i contact the bank (ICICI) to not report this issue with CIBIL?
Do they really help me on this one?
This is my first MISSED late payment in my CREDIT history
Any suggestions?

i once missed the date and surprisingly got msg after 3 days that i missed due date and i should pay to avoid late payment charges. Icici cc it was. Talk to icici they may reverse charges

Send a polite email about this and they would most definitely waive off the entire charges. Similar cases have happened to me 2-3 times over the last 10+ years and no bank other than SBI Cards have every reported a delayed payment to any credit reporting agencies. And they have always reversed the charges after a polite request by email.

SBI Cards, to be honest, I am not sure as to why they did that. It was maybe a delay of 3 or 4 days, and in the 6+ years I've had that card, I have always made the full payment before due date.

What was the mode of payment? If it was immediate mode like transfer from ICICI A/c or NEFT, chances are, they would not treat it as a delay or levy any charges. I have experienced such things with Citi and Amex. They normally consider 3-4 days as grace period for getting actual credit to account, if it was a one off case. Wait for generation of your next statement.

I've missed a payment once by a day, and that was due to the fact that NEFT doesn't work on weekends.

Citi ignored it, I even called the CC and they said not to worry about it. I didn't have to pay any late charges whatsoever. But here the payment is late by four days, may have to request the CC.

StanChart reversed charges applied coz of their own stupidity 2 months back in my case.

I have two cards from same account. They keep randomly moving funds from one account to another.

I paid total in one card expecting them to adjust for both. Freaks didn't do it on time. Levied penalty on one card.

Called. They said no problems. Also disabled movement of funds between the two cards so no more random fund transfers causing same issue in future. But this means I would have to make two payments if I use both cards in a cycle.

This is just why I use CRED (not suggesting it). Different billing cycles for different cards make it difficult to track due dates.

I always write the due dates on a paper and stick it in the wall above my PC. Due to some personal problems and stress i stopped doing that for the past few months.
Yesterday i missed the LIC due date and paid today with late fee...damn:cautious:
