Soon! mobile phones will come with tiny pocket to hold tablet and recharge offers will come like "10 Saridon Free with every 100rs recharge"!
Mobile is becoming headache these days!

You mean big pockets to hold tablet, right?

It sucks to carry a large phablet out of no choice and leaving an impression that you are showing off :D

i wonder how many people are getting affected by this scam. and how many do not end up picking important/genuine calls because they have heard of this scam!

1. How many people would expect calls from countries in Africa or Pakistan? Small percentage of the total.
2. Of that small percentage of people, how many would NOT have their respective contacts from those countries in their phone so that they could see who is calling on the caller-ID and they know to pick it up?

I have people call me from weird and wonderful countries all the time, but because I have their number in my phone, I'm able to pick them up without hesitation - and for the times where the name/number isn't in my phone, I can make an educated guess because I can recognize the country code.

India has Cell phones Subscriber: 881.40 million (Oct. 2011) according to Wiki, you may consider 1/3 as not so well educated and hence they dont generally look for country code and have habits to call back to unknown number for whatever reasons, Even I have seen well educated peoples making call back to miss call from unknown numbers.

now you can calculate how much money can be extracted from such peoples by spam call.

Actually I wanted to say this...

If someone is uneducated to the level they dont know what an ISD code is, its unlikely they will spend their money returning missed calls

Come on bro...You are forgetting that even Rickshawala, jhaduwali, kaamwali bai, majdoor have mobiles...you expects them to know about ISD? :)

+91 (India) and +92 (Pak) looks so similar in string of of 10-15 digits that sometimes in hurry some may miss that its not Indian number.Actually for all calls originating from India, Operators should drop putting ISD code +91, so people can realize that incoming call is local or ISD :)

actually i think most people would take a couple of seconds before they pick up a call that does not come from an existing contact. more so if it looks like an international number. i have in the past avoided picking calls from voip numbers which i later found out was from a friend in usa. i told him to ping me on messenger before calling me from a voip number. :P

Subscribers to BSNL's mobile services should take a note of this. A Telecom Talk report confirms that scores of BSNL subscribers are complaining of receiving missed calls from dubious looking ISD numbers, and on calling back are being charged a whopping Rs.50/ minute. In a statement provided to this website, BSNL have confirmed that users have been receiving missed calls, especially from numbers starting with - +263xxxx and +960xxxxx. The report further suggests that users mostly in the Karnataka and Tamil Nadu telecom circles have been facing this issue. Users have no choice, but to stay aware of instances like these, and not call back on the numbers, unless they're sure.
