Recently,I received a letter from BSNL Broadband Divisional Engineer saying that another BSNL customer's BSNL account has been misused by my landline number.I do not understand how this is possible and have also received a bill for Rs. 1,82,000/- for no real fault of mine,as I had asked my frnchise to convert my plan to 750rs unlimited.I am definitely not willing to pay these ppl the amount for no reason. Is there any solution to this as these ppl are really gettin onto my nerves.. Any comments on the above scenario would e appreciated... PS..Should I be taking this seriously..?

1.82 lakhs? consumer court my friend is your friend.

How is that possible????? Nowadays BSNL is using port binding so u cannot access other's a/c using ur landline...... And 1.82lac???? :O. Consumer Court is the only word to say after this.

1.Who is your franchise ? 2.How he can change your plan ?3.What is the present tariff plan ? 4.How long you are having BB connection ?5.Can you post only the summary total used/ chargeable units ( excluding free Night usage )and last entries ( say for two days)of your usage from BSNL Usage portal ?Hope you are not having a cyber cafe.

hiii Friend,
I have also received a similar letter from BSNL Chief Accounts Officer....stating misuse of amount of Rs.10,231 for 4 days (25.08.2008 to 28.08.2008). This is absolutely absurd as only I use my PC and I was away from Kolkata in Bangalore doing my MBA at that time.
Could U please tell me how u resolved this matter ?
What steps did u take and what was the outcome ?
My email id is [email protected]
.....Thanks

Check the usage in BSNL - Broadband Account Management
with your 14digit portal ID and PW.
Take a print out.
If your system is switched on , do you connect immediately ?
or you used a Dialer entering UserId and PW.

Your modem/router ( mention make )is it WIFI type ? if WIFI
: doees it need a security key ?

BSNL can check the MAC address in their servers.
If you show that your past usage for say last six months
have been reasonable , >A.O may waive this amount.

Also If History data is available in your computer, get the details
of web sites visited to get an idea, whether your Computer was used

ANY chance the telephone could be used for International Calls? also STD.

what does the Portal usage show?

i have seen the portal usage and i always closely monitor it but it seldom crossed 1 GB limit.....the letter clearly mentions misuse of others account from my landline

i use ppp wan miniport to connect feeding username and password
No international calls made from my telephone.

Wait for the printed bill.

They have enclosed a handwritten bill with the letter.....The letter says that if bill not paid by August 25th then connection will be disconnected.
