android for the win indeed. my first opinions. Apple still rules when it comes to usability. i have been using an ipod touch for more than a year. i can easily see how android usually takes less clicks for a lot of tasks. but google android is pretty capable out of the box. google services are very very powerful. the only problem is that without web access, this phone is pretty much useless. GPS on this device is powered by google maps. so i can get the map to a destination at home with my wi-fi and use that info on the road. but on the road... i would be helpless coz the maps are called from the web and not stored on the phone. voice recognition is pretty rocking. but it again uses the web. i can use voice to type emails, reply to messages, tweet, call people. but that too seems to be processed using the web i think. remains to be seen how useful this phone is outside my place without a gprs connection.

dealing with idea spam calls now. just got a call. gprs... rs. 1 per day. catch? 1 paisa per KB.they do not even say kilobit/kilobyte. just 1 paisa per kb.

We would require 45 working days to remove your number from our telemarketing list.
We regret any inconvenience caused to you by our Calls/SMS in that duration.

Dear Customer, your request has been registered and the unique reference number for the same is -1. You will receive an SMS from us confirming the action taken on your request. Please quote the unique reference number mentioned here, in case you require any further detail on this in future.

still don't understand... why 45 days for entering into DND!

yet another spam call. i have not given out this number to ANYBODY. so well it is easy to know when i am being spammed by idea. :D

the idea sim card i got for pretty much free... idea is spam calling me like every 15 minutes! i have of course applied for DND. but as it said. it could take then 45 days to enter my number in their database!

heh. i thought they earned when i recharged my connection. i mean i can throw away this sim after making the calls of Rs. 100 which i put it in (i got 88-89 rupee talktime). they are just frustrating me into actually doing that. unless they stop the spamming in the near future. :) i hate how smartphones still do not feature the ability to simply block alerts for calls and sms from particular numbers.

alright. finally managed to get an aircel connection with a data connection. 98 bucks for unlimited. for now at least. it seems to work fine on the road. used it with foursquare, google maps navigation and gmail... forum however took too long and i got bored and closed the session.

^^^ I am regularly accessing this forum through mobile. Never felt slow(of course, it is slow when compared to browsing on pc).
