Modem + Router for BSNL

Hello geeks,
Presently i am using Basic modem which is provided by BSNL (UT300R2U). It is very hectic to start the modem if i turn off. I need to remove the power cable and re insert it power on sometimes it takes very long time to turn on. I don't understand whats wrong this any idea guys?

Next thing is if i need to buy a new one what should i go for. My requirements
Adsl+Wifi
Ground floor and 1st floor
Each floor 44 (l) x 30 (b) feet
I will access smartphone, desktop, laptop

My OS is windows XP
My choice is Buy D-Link Wireless N 300 ADSL2+ 4-port Ethernet Router with USB (DSL-2750U) at Best Price in India - Also find Specifications, Photos, Features & Reviews. How does this work. Does this provide long range. Please advice

Confirming the range of WIFI acccess not
possible ( Many variables from location to location ).
You have to wait for an user's report :who owns one.

If the wifi range is not possible , and connecting RJ45 , not preferred, select TWO
WIFI router with WDS ( Wireless Distribution System for wifi link ( no cables )

The only advantage of DSL-2750U over DSL-2730U is that DSL-2750U router comes with

ok. my home area is not very much big. 10mts of ht for 1st floor. i planning to put the modem in 1st floor. each floor have 13mts in length and 9mts in breadth.
another query is does these modem + router support beam cable fibre. I planning for a shift to this provider in coming 6mths or so.

NO normally. Use as a switch. ( result not known)
A Stand alone WIFI router with WAN/Internet input . may work.
Confirm from Tech CC ( customer Care ) of BEAM.
( you may be asked to register MAC address of wifi router.)
