Try the following things

Call up sify customer and ask them to disable Heartbeating for your connection.

Use one of the alternative clients instead of the official one (see http://forum.seo4india.com/Sify_Broadband_...ients-f38.html)

Ok, sify engg came home, did some thing (sadly i wasnt home ). Said problem will be resolved. then i mailed him a few files from the sify broadband folder. Now the conn has worked whole night, no d/c

I never let any "enginners" touch my comp when i aint around. there is nothing really that they can do which i cant , & probably true for most i think.
