Is the phone heavy and clunky compared to the nexus 5 design

Yup. With a TPU case on both... Moto Turbo is quite a heavy device compared to the Nexus 5. But the feel is good. I love holding this phone!

some motorola guy called me up from virginia. told me that they cannot provide a spare unit for me to compare because it is on sale only through flipkart. i basically asked them to provide a unit to their official service center so that i can at least get an idea if my display was faulty. nope. and then the guy told me to wait for a few days. he said that since the phone is one of the best in the market, one of my friends would definitely order it and then i can compare the displays. :russianroulette:

you should have wished them 'good luck' , cause they will need lots of that while selling a non Apple/samsung 42k

phone in india.

This is Nishant's Nexus 6 compared with Nexus 4. So... I am guessing... My phone is not defective?

AMOLED panels sucks big time as far as color reproduction is concerned. It's all about getting used to it.
