and i guess it would also be full of ads. with priority for TOI ads :D

I guess HD channels do not AIR ADS. The recent live events given by TS STAR cricket HD (EVENT BASED) for CLT20 didnt have any ads so did NEO Cricket HD.

buddy they dont have ADs either..because no AD yet is in HD..they do take a break..but they just air their upcoming programmes for 2minutes or so...we have live matches in HD too without any commercials..so it would be great for us to get movies now soon on our Tata Sky HD

alright. i went home today and noticed that the local cable guy in that area is already showing movie now. and i did not notice any ads. and i dont think he has raised the price of the monthly package.

I hope most of you would agree with me for the fact that I would not prefer to watch these movies in normal SD bandwidth as I have already seen them in the past many a times. The brand position of the movies now is not meant for the mass in the standard definition market. I guess star movies, HBO et all are in a much better position in that market. MN's (Movies Now's) true positioning would require them to partner with the existing DTH's HD service provides. This is a very niche area and I think they are busy in all the business dealings at the moment with all the DTH operators. That is the reason, according to me, is the delay.

sucks for them that they did not launch the channel after getting into deals first.

Agree, same feelings here. They should have launched after they had tied up with at least one DTH operator for HD distribution. Whats the point of claiming India's 1st HD movie channel when there is not a single operator carrying it on HD. One may produce anything in HD at home but cant claim it to be a national achievement till you actually reach out to the masses.
