MTNL blocking speeds of some websites

count me in too.....after 12am when i reconnect to my 849NU plan, not only downloads but websites too dont open even after multiple refreshes.maybe after an 1hr or two, the net stablizes.hope this gets sorted soon.

I am on the NU590 plan in Mumbai. During the day I get speeds of 25 kbps from link-removed (my plan is 256 KBPS). But like everyone else on these forums, even I experience pathetic speeds after reconnecting at 12 AM. And I am sure that this is due to MTNL blocking the speeds for those reconnecting under the Night Unlimited Plan. I am certain because if I don't disconnect & reconnect at 12 AM, I continue to get good connection speeds of 25 kbps uptil 2 AM also. Its only when I disconnect & reconnect at 12 that the speeds go down. And the speed goes down to as low as 7 kbps from link-removed. I wanted to upgrade my plan to NU849 so that I can get 2 MBPS speeds instead of 256 KBPS. But if the problem exists for 849NU scheme users as well, then I guess no point in me changing over.

whenever the speeds goes down try using some download accelerators.....

though speed does suck sometimes for me as well but considering that i get approx 600 - 700 kbps it doubles up when i create more simultaneous connections.... still it is still better than sticking onto 256 kbps.....more so because the speeds usually peak out after 2 - 3 am.... so u get almost like 9 times the speed and things get done fast....

though in your case maybe u r limited to 256kbps that u get around 50 - 60 kbps at night from link-removed....

according to me go to 849NU and surely u'll be getting more than 256kbps since in this plan ur speed will be between 256kbps - 2Mbps and nothing lower........

is anyone still facing this prob?i noticed an instability in the net connection again today at around 11:15pm.coincidentally, someone has posted some news regarding the severing of an underwater cable due to which internet services have been disrupted all over india and egypt.is that anything to do with today's instability.can anyone else confirm this plz?

@yohu123Even I faced intermittent on and off connection last night and night before that. I'm in Malad area.First I thought that my phone line is loose. I worked on it for no help.
