I dunno , if this is true but i was talking with a MTNL executive (one of the main guys in their office in Janpath) and he told me soon MTNL will be reducing prices of internet plans every 6~10months on festivals / national important holidays... so could be that the 1mbps ultd may get 2mbits and like that... but surely not 2mbits on 512kbps.... it's not feasible for them right now.... let's wait and see .....if they announce some plan changes..
* fingers crossed * hoping for the best

also yes mtnl should concentrate more on quality than quantity....but then it would end up like airtel... charging high rent and providing pathetic plans .... so i guess it's just better to live with what we have
Not for everyone.... even for me it has been a good experience with mtnl.. but you need to visit their exchange once in a while to keep things working ...
it may be due to some kind of mistake, MTNL giving me 2055 in 1Mbps ul plan from last month or so after I complaint them about frequent disconnection in my ADSL link, they changed my peers but forget to set right speed , Now I anm enjoying it. If you have some resourse information about your thoughts please share.

on one hand airtel is impossing Fair usage policies so what will force MTNL to take this step when MTNL's Broadband plans are still cheapest.

MTNL should concentrate on quality not on Cost?:madness::madness::madness:
I have been using of MTNL Triband since long and I am not getting any problem. No downtime, no speed problem, no billing problem.... nothing yet. and if they are making Broadband more affordable, its very good. In the time of e-commerce/cyber-age, 256/512kbps is not sufficient. Infact 256kbps shouldnt be Broadband. Other ISP should follow suit. Why critical on MTNL?
Critical on MTNL because when it goes down ... it's not like 1 week for many people... it goes down for like 1 month ...you are lucky to not have faced any such problem .. yes even i think that the govt PSU is trying to make broadband the next big revolution in the country after the mobile phone industry... it will benefit all of us in some way or the other ... 512kbps speed should now be the new limit for broadband.... and they should keep on increasing it every year....
Well, I have heard more BAD experience from other ISPs than MTNL. So problems are there from all ISPs...for MTNL one thing, is that u need to know whom to contact exactly, once you know it, its not hard.
