^^Lol, yeah. I don't think MTNL's network is capable enough to handle this kind of upgradation of speed. Users with high speed plans are suffering and MTNL should first concentrate on providing them value for money !!

ha, their wires are very bad.. few months back they accidentally changed my upload speed to 512kbps.. and my line started disconnecting every 3-4 mins. i asked them to make it back to 256kbps and all was back to normal.in short forget abt 1mbps speed unless u have very good SNR margin i.e. u r reasonable close to exchange.

There is also no news regarding when they are going to give us wimax services. They got the spectrum last year only

Only strong competition in the market will make them realise that they cannot give internet on stone-age old copper lines FTTH is the future....Hope we could experience some competition from Wimax after it is launched.

I think they already have plans to switch to fibre. I hope that fibre terminates atleast till ground of the building and not the end of street. Which otherwise will mean that last few hundred meters wud still be copper.

Getting download speed of 220-250 kB/Sec on 495 Combo (320 kbps) plan till last week from last 5 months; but when my neighbor brought same plan speed of both is reduced to 40kB/Sec.!!!
