Pretty common dude, they have changed your plan but the department that changes speed is different. Keep pestering them by calling at 1504 or go to local exchange. They key here is repeated calls until your problem has been solved. This problem was pretty common in Delhi so I got to the bottom of it and found out that a guy called Shubhendu who works at the Kidwai Bhawan main office has this job of changing speeds. I somehow got hold of his mobile number, and shared it here with guys and then all it took was one call to that guy to get your speeds fixed. Sadly, he got irritated and got his mobile number changed :P .

1st of all thn'x for ur reply.....
i was gone....2 local exchangw 2day that guy said that we can't do anything with speed .......
i also talk 2 1504 that guy told me problem is ur router......i also think that......router maybe faulty....see snap in snap it shows only 256 kbps/256kbps

tell me wat u think....?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that modem reflects whatever the speed of your current plan is. So if they haven't changed your speed cap in their system you'll continue to get your earlier plan's download speed.

This is the same problem i am facing as well. But in my case, the speed isn't changed because the Computers @ my Local Exchange is displaying Old Plan

well not exactly.. my modem is synced to 8mbps even though im on a 2mbps plan..

Thanks for correcting me superprash2003.@mail2die: Can you tell us which modem are you using (make & model no.)? Try to use G.dmt mode if you are on some other mode.

Well.. this is a pretty common problem. The plan transfer happens from your local exchange and speed upgrade/downgrade happens from a central exchange (Prabhadevi Exchange in Mumbai... not sure where in Delhi). Keep pestering 1504 and tell them that the plan is upgraded by speed has not been upgraded to 2mbps. If you call them twice in a day, it should happen within a week. And try getting in touch with the Broadband Engineer in your local exchange and ask him to forward the request.
