Do u consider 400mb @ 199 Rs. the cheapest plan for broadband, I dont know abt others but in I've never succeded in limiting usage to 400 MB, always it crosses mark of 1 GB. For uninterested people, this plan will suffice!

Frankly I'm on that plan for over 3 months now and This month I've clocked 1396MBso yes Even I have a hard time staying within 400MBBut even u'll agree that MTNL is stable and cheap if you stick to the prescribed limits.Apart from that in my area no one else will give me a BB connection. On 1st sept Moving to 849NU, coz even if i dont use the night hours everynightI'll still save money coz I wont cross the limits

rather than asking the reverse question of which places is airtel present?

you tell me at which places only mtnl is present. which means NO other operator is present. if mtnl is charging more for providing reliable service, you cant blame them for that...

edit: sorry just realised that mtnl does NOT have monopoly because people can buy reliance fixed wireless phone which also provides internet. since you can buy that & have it anywhere in mumbai, so you do have an option.

1. MTNL
2. Cable net pacenet 750 bucks speed is 150 kbps

I m with MTNL.
And I was using Rel FWP in past, screwed up with their cheating methods of sending exorbittent bills.
At least MTNL is genuine.
Its charging for what v use, but its our fault that v cant control our usage, Many of my friends which r on TriB200P unable to utilize 400 MB, they say they never go above 250 MB, isnt it strange?:o

heh heh! :hysterical:i don't know what reason wud the mtnl babus give !:whistle:hope that they don't increase delhi rates!:p

edit: sorry just realised that mtnl does NOT have monopoly because people can buy reliance fixed wireless phone which also provides internet. since you can buy that & have it anywhere in mumbai, so you do have an option.

Who else apart from MTNL has copper wire last mile connectivity connectivity direct into every home and building in Mumbai????
Only MTNL,......and copper lines can provide upto 24MBPS under lab conditions.
Without 3G the BB speeds we need will never be possible on a a wireless network instrument Reliance or otherwise.
Thats the MTNL monopoly;although the other operators are to blame coz they feel its not a money spinner to get into broadband access.

Competition is why MTNL landlines and Mobiles have the cheapest plans amongst Mumbai providers,
but MTNL BB is quiet expensive compared to our delhi bretheren.

if all of us send 1 email everyday to local newspapers hopefully at least once the problem will be highlighted in the newspaper . if MTNL cannot treat mumbai the same as delhi then it better go to delhi!!

well, people can file complain under Monopoly Act (not necessarily have to have monopoly per se) for providing highly different tariff in two regions (delhi and mumbai)

why do we need this monopoly thing :huh:Any judge in any court would be convinced of mtnl's partiality when he just sees the huge differences in tariff's for 2 very similiar metro cities :madness: There can be no explanation for such a huge price difference :p
