Oh.. there are few users who use MTNL id from dial up days

Well, i had a different experience with these people altogether, even before the new beta website claiming "Subscribe to Email Updates" . I had to sent 4-5 emails for them to get it correct and forward the mails to my new mtnl mail address.Sent mails to (helpdesk at mtnl dot net dot in), (register dot mtnl dot net in) and a Cc to one of the top official

No need, as what i have mentioned in previous post, worked out for me. So, started receiving mails from MTNL

Yeah, was a shock for me as well, When i saw one fine morning with those mails......

Looks like MTNL is converting beta website into final launch.I got alert that their web site will be under maintenance tonight.

Got a new alert.

Not posting the actual alert as its big, but MTNL now has incoming and outgoing spam/virus filtering for mtnl.net.in id.

Now if you use mtnl.net.in email id and you are using it for spamming OR ur PC is infected with virus which sends email, then MTNL will block ur id

You can check if ur id is listed by going here: MTNL Mumbai WebMail
(haha that itself is good source for spammers to get huge list of mtnl email ids!!)

Incase ur id is blacklisted then u need to write letter to DGM stating that this will not happen again

Repeated listing of ur id will bring on permanent ban

Some part of that huge e-mail:

If the Email Id of a user is in blacklist , then he / she should follow the following procedure to get themselves de-listed from the blacklist :

1)A request letter addressed to "DGM(Internet-2),MTNL Prabhadevi , Mumbai 28" is to be faxed to Fax No. 24368401. This letter must contain the details such as the Broadband Tel. No. ,CA No., Name and address of the subscriber, Contact Tel . No, Cell No, and the Email-Id that has been blacklisted and alternate Email-id, if any.

2)An undertaking is to be given in the letter that, all necessary precautions will be taken in the future and spam mails will not be sent.

After receiving fax letter,the Email-Id may be considered for de-listing from the blacklist. This process requires at least 4 hours and is done on working days between 10 am to 5:00 pm. Repeated Offenders will be permanently blacklisted.

If you have received any mail like 'MTNL is going to transfer mtnl.net.in mailbox to a new System' kindly don't reply to such mails because these mails are False, Fraudulent Emails,which have come to the MTNL Email users asking them to provide some personal information like
1.User ID:
2.Password:
3.Date of birth:

This is to bring to the notice of all MTNL Email users that MTNL has "NOT ASKED FOR ANY SUCH INFORMATION" and all MTNL users are hereby alerted not to respond to such Fraudulent Emails asking personal information.
