See. Here's the thing. Given your data rates, the speed youre getting is fine. Majority of mtnl customers get the same speed as you. I'm synced at 2550kbps. Averages out to 240kBps on torrents.The ease with which you can get the data rate increased depends on your exchange chaps.

How would one go about getting the Data rate increased? What has worked for people in the past in dealing with them? (Mumbai)Just saw my new MTNL downstream is also set to 2048.

Will visit my exchange when paying bill......exactly whom to ask regarding broadband in the exchange....coz i dont think people in the billing department will have a clue about what im talking to them....!

just now i was doing speed test.....to my suprise they have changed my plan speed to 1.13 mbps it should have been after 80gb but after completing around 58gb they have lowered my speed....lolnow i will have to go to exchange and first reset it to 2mbps then ask for data rate fixed to 2550 for 2mbps...!!!!!
