Just got a call from MTNL and they took my email address and telephone number for bill alerts.
After taking the information they told me to call on 1504 and get it updated there :numbness:

I am not sure when this was introduced but apparently you can now change your trariff plan after you login to your a/c at http://register.mtnl.net.in/

Yes. The option to change online has been there for quite some time. Guess they added a link in the portal. But, plan selection is messed up, one of my friends selected a 8mbps plan and ended up with a 2mbps one. Though the same was rectified within a week by mtnl without him lodging any complaint whatsoever.

Hard working beavers, when their site was last hacked they had denied that any harm/data loos had happened but I had noticed if you tried to send mail from mtnl email id's (I use it to mail mtnl staff about problems) it would redirect to another smtp server (non mtnl) so I stopped using it. Dont know the current status.
