MTNL Triband 849NU / Reliance Broadband 300K UL Combo
Guess what.16/01/09 - Friday - 11am - Called MTNL Call Center (1500), gave request to get my triband tariff plan changed to 256UL. As usual I asked how long it would take and they reply "at max a week sir". I tell them I need it faster if possible, give alternate contact details, take the request no etc and hangup.16/01/09 - Friday - 1:30 pm - I get a confirmation call from MTNL. Again I asked how long would it take and the standard reply "at max a week sir".17/01/09 - Saturday - 9:30 am - MTNL guys call at home. since I'm not around they check when I'll be back.17/01/09 - Saturday - 11 am - MTNL guys call and say "this is to inform you that your tariff plan change has been done" !!!I just couldn't believe this. "Plan change done in less than 24 hours ? Am I day dreaming ?" Checked the MTNL account info page etc all and found everything is in order. The plan change date says 16/01/09 in stead of 17th but I won't mind paying for 1 day extra for the quick response itself. What you say guys ? Should I write an appreciation letter (mail) to MTNL or let if go thinking this is one off case ? I think it's worth much more than the usual complaint mails that must be going across. Will wait for the current months billing and then send the mail if there's no further goof up.PS - Been having this kind of experience with MTNL for quite a while now on Dolphin - all requests there get handled in 2 working days at most.

U look like a lucky guy :).....i asked my ISP for a change in plan and they took 3 weeks.....:wall:and yea they deserve a appreciation letter

Thats a one off case dude..MTNL/BSNL customer support doesnt exist..atleast thats my experience..i have always had to pull strings to get things done

My plan got changed in a day too..I got the phone call next day evening..

Plan change doesnt take time, only speed change takes time.

Guess what.

I think you should write a letter of appreciation to the ED & cc to customer care. Let them know there are some guys who work faster than most of the others in MTNL :P

same here, got changed in a day. But, you should start downloading from the next day ;)

I would advise you to wait a couple of days before starting to leech. Although your details page shows the new plan, MTNL billing is an entirely different ball game. I am speaking from previous experience. Unless you want to go to MTNL and bang your head agaist them next month, hold on for a couple of days.

Oh surely. I'm not a big downloader. Just about couple of gigs usually per month. And my pacenet broadband connection is on till this weekend so am not using MTNL much. But will surely keep the MTNL sessions printouts ready just in case !!!

lol same happened to me when i changed my plan .....In morning i gave request and in afternoon i get confirmation callalthough i didn't got alert that my plan is changed.
