I remember when I was on the old DSL 599 now called DSL 598 Download was 'upto 2 mbps' & the Upload was 512kbps as it was originally a 512kbps plan later it was reduced to the piddly 256kbps made a standard across the plans, it made a difference in my speed. It was a let down :( Hence my gripe, MTNL thinks it has a revenue stream (actually hare brained ) which I doubt will have many takers to make a difference.

Atleast, we should be grateful to MTNL that we don't have a situation where FUP is imposed on us forcefully like the Airtel way :) Mtnl has kept it optional atleast for now
