try first with the 1p/1KB and check if it suits u. if yes then switch to unltd plan.

i dont know abt delhi but mumbai MTNL has rent free 1p/1KB, i thought same wud be there too. but i can tell u it was working good at GPRS speed. u can directly try the plan for a month otherwise. max u will lose is some 350Rs if it doesnt work.

switch over to Airtel's MO @ 15 Rs./day. Its the best GPRS plan available in india, with downloading free, if u r lucky enough to stay close to mobile tower u'll get 25~30 kbps speed on E-GPRS(EDGE) based handsets,And u can download 500 MB easily in a day! I think all other companies like VF which is offering GPRS @ 10p/10kb, loot us. Also 10p/10kb GPRS can be used on handset only, for PC connectivity another GPRS called 'Hutch Access' is needed which is more costlier than basic one.

Yeah i used it for sometime & it was a ripoff man !

Well, if its mentioned as free in MTNL website then no one is gonna charge u for the downloads u made..Surfing means downloading data..maybe CC didn't had any idea about downloading/surfing stuffs so he misguided you.

i put a request to activate GPRS on my connection on Aug 18 at 2 pm, but it's not been activated yet...today morning i did get a call from them confirming if i have requested to activate GPRS, and i confirmed it and the plan as well, but nothing till now...also, my main need is the speed, not the data limit...i don't think i'm gonna use to download stuff or anything, just when i'm on the move or when i'm not home...my main need is RDP...on Reliance, it was just ok...and i'm guessing on MTNL, it'll be even slower...

ok, my GPRS got activated (around 12 hrs back)...the speed i get connected on my laptop is 115.2 kbps...in comparison to Reliance, it's almost the same:whistle:...btw, all this is on a chinese handset...i'm gonna write a step-by-step procedure to get it working on a Chinese handset, remember it's not easy as u'd have to do all the settings manually...in the meantime, if anybody needs help, don't hesitate to PM... :)

great. yes do post the settings. my cuz has chinese mobile. hope the settings are similar.

yeah...will do that, as soon as i get some spare time...till then u know whom to contact :) btw, am making this post from my laptop/GPRS only..
