MTNL MUMBAI installation cost

Can anyone who bought mtnl broadband recently can tell me what initial charges are applied including landline charges as i dont own one . I am planning to buy my own modem cum router so i will not be needing their modem . So dont include those charges . Also recommend any good supporting modem-wireless router .

I know these , I wanna know landline charges as i dont own one . I called customer care 3 times , everytime i got three different answers . I just wanna make sure before setting one up whether it will incur any bug amount

Landline Tariffs

Registration cum installation charges : Rs 500 (to be paid at the time of booking)
Security Deposit (without interest)
Local or STD : Rs.1000/- (will be collected in 2 equal installments)
ISD facility : Rs.3000/- (will be collected in 6 equal installments)
For Only Incoming Plan-179:- Rs. 500/-

You can choose combo plan or choose separate landline and broadband plans.

If one is not going for combo plan do they have to take both a broadband and landline plan . Cant we just take a broadband plan and no landline as i will not be using it for calling purposes .

Landline is must for DSL. So u can go for combo plan (which indirectly costs 100Rs/month for landline) and gives 25 calls free.

You don't have a better choice anyways, other than reliance wired which is also still not as good as mtnl dsl, because you have to login everyday from website in reliance.
