Hi,Like we do in Sify network when we run any Ip scanner we get many machines that have shared drives on network..but when we search on MTNL network we get only IPs of CPEs ?How to access machine associated with that public IP?Regards,

u can scan port 139 or 445 but then everything will be charged, it wont be free like in sify as its not a LAN connection its DSL/P2P connection.

This will work ONLY if user is technically aware and :1. Connects through PPPOE OR2. Has put PC in DMZ OR3. Has forwarded Netbios / LANMAN portsAND4. Does not have any firewallTough to find such users IMHO.

yes thats why he is landing on modem (CPE) pages LOL

oh..ok..i had something else in mind..anywayz as stated above it will only work if the service/daemon that u want to access has its port forwarded to the WAN side (internet) or the user has activated DMZ in the router and put the PC's LAN IP address in that ...otherwise u will keep landing at the Modem config page..router acts as a firewall by default for incoming connections..
